Vilger recently shared photos on social media expressing gratitude to the German consulate and showing her positive spirits as she regains her strength.

According to a statement released through WA Police, Vilger became lost after her van rolled down a hill, causing her to injure her head and wander into dense bushland. Authorities have described her survival as remarkable, crediting her skills and the favourable weather for her recovery. She remains in hospital but is reported to be on the mend.

For nearly two weeks, the 26-year-old last night shared photos to her Instagram page showing a massive spread of food, including fruit, pastries, chocolate and other sweet treats, and thanking the German consulate for those goodies with the caption, when you need to gain 12 kilograms back. Now, the social media post shows a very happy and playful looking Carolina in contrast to the pictures we saw last week of her looking absolutely exhausted, starving and dehydrated. And just yesterday, Ms. Vilger released a statement through WA police, reeling she left her van because she was dazed and confused and she still had lost control and it had rolled down a hill causing her to strike and injure her head. And that's when she walked off into the dense bush and became lost. Now, the WA police commissioners today described her story of survival as an amazing tale. I think the thing that Carolina had in her favour was the weather. She had certainly good skills to keep moving and tracking in the one direction. I think it was a miracle that Tanya turned up when she did and what an amazing person she is.
