International activists participating in a flotilla aimed at breaking the Israeli blockade of Gaza report that some of their boats were attacked by drones and explosions while sailing in international waters south of Greece. The Sumad flotilla claims at least 13 explosions occurred overnight, damaging boats and affecting the hearing of some crew members. 

The flotilla, consisting of dozens of boats from several countries, is carrying symbolic humanitarian aid for Palestinians in Gaza. The Israeli Foreign Ministry has accused the organisers of links to Hamas and offered to transport the aid via the Israeli port of Ashkelon. Greece's Coast Guard reported no distress calls from the flotilla.

International activists participating in a flotilla of small boats seeking to break the Israeli blockade of Gaza have said some of their boats were attacked by drones overnight while sailing in international waters south of Greece. The global Sumad flotilla said Wednesday that it was attacked during the night by at least 13 explosions. It was an attack with drones that have been flying over our heads for days now, but yesterday they launched torpedoes at our boats, damaging both the sails and the hearing of some of our crew members. All this was to condemn, but obviously we expected it, we expected it because it is a rhetoric that is part of what Israel is trying to do in relation to missions like ours, it is trying to instill fear because it is afraid of our arrival. Greece's Coast Guard did not report any distress calls. The flotilla, comprised of dozens of boats from several countries, is carrying a symbolic amount of humanitarian aid including food and medicine for Palestinians in Gaza. The Israeli Foreign Ministry has accused organisers of being linked to Hamas and says it has proposed that the activists unload their aid in the Israeli port of Ashkelon for it to be transported.
