Tropical Storm Gabrielle is struggling to maintain its intensity due to wind shear and dry air and this will be the case over the next few days. If Gabrielle survives, it may strengthen as it moves into a more favorable environment.

Tropical Storm Gabrielle is currently maintaining wind speeds of around 45 miles per hour and is not expected to strengthen until later in the week. The storm's projected path has shifted slightly, reducing the immediate risk to Bermuda, though impacts will depend on its eventual track.

In addition to Gabrielle, meteorologists are observing another system in the Atlantic with a 20% chance of development over the next seven days. Forecast models indicate the possibility of this system approaching the Leeward Islands and the Dominican Republic, but its development remains uncertain.

Looking at where the latest trend is, notice where the latest cone is positioning this storm system compared to Bermuda. Remember, earlier in the week, we were talking about maybe getting very close to Bermuda, and now everything's shifting a little bit more to the right with development maybe not even happening till we get through this weekend. So it'll kind of stay at that 45 mile per hour storm for several days here, and if that happens, I mean, we gotta wait till this weekend comes into play before we see this thing maybe increase its strength. All right, so overall, we know it's gotta go west-northwest because of where this high pressure sits, and obviously, with the area that we're watching, these cluster of thunderstorms moving its way towards the west-northwest, eventually it will turn north, and depending on where it sits within the vicinity of Bermuda will depend on what kind of impacts we get in Bermuda. Then we got another system that we're watching. Over the next seven days, 20% of development, and you can kind of see how this is Gabrielle as it's working its way west, and then this other system, does it develop? Does it not? Is it battling the same elements that Gabrielle once was? Could it be Umberto? As we get into the end of next week, there's a lot to be said with that system, but you can still clearly see from a European standpoint, the forecast model here does have something near the Leeward Islands, and of course, closer to the Dominican Republic.
