ABC Network has indefinitely suspended Jimmy Kimmel Live after Jimmy Kimmel made remarks concerning the killing of conservative activist Charlie Kirk. The suspension has sparked significant discussion, including public comments from President Trump, who attributed Kimmel's removal to poor ratings and criticized his talent. 

During a joint news conference, President Trump stated that Kimmel was fired for lack of talent and low ratings, rather than issues of free speech. Trump also praised ABC's decision on social media and called for other networks to cancel additional late night shows. FCC chairman Brendan Carr commented that Kimmel had misled the public regarding facts about Kirk's killing prior to the show's suspension.

So Reid, President Trump was asked multiple questions about this while he was in the UK today. This notably his first public on-camera comments about Jimmy Kimmel's late night show being indefinitely postponed. Well, Jimmy Kimmel was fired because he had bad ratings more than anything else. And he said a horrible thing about a great gentleman known as Charlie Kirk. And Jimmy Kimmel is not a talented person. He had very bad ratings and they should have fired him a long time ago. So, you know, you can call that free speech or not. He was fired for lack of talent. And Reid, in a post on Truth Social yesterday, the president had applauded ABC for, quote, finally having the courage to do what had to be done. He also called for NBC to cancel late night shows for comedians Seth Meyers and Jimmy Fallon. And today we also heard, Reid, from FCC chairman Brendan Carr. He was on CNBC this morning. And look, he said Kimmel appeared to, quote, mislead the American public about facts regarding Charlie Kirk's killing in the days leading up to his show's suspension. Chanel Call, thank you so much.
