The storm is forecast to reach the Azores as a hurricane, despite cooler waters in the region, and is expected to weaken as it approaches Spain and Portugal. While Gabrielle is likely to be a diminished system by the time it reaches the Iberian Peninsula, it may still bring impactful, squally weather to the affected areas.
