This year, the French Open organizers are trying to limit the damage, giving players access to an AI software that is aimed to protect them from cyberbullying on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook or TikTok. We remove the comment in real time and the only person that can see the comment is the one that posted it. We saw that online toxicity do impact their field performance as well as football players and tennis players. So it's really important to protect them so they can focus on the game only. The French company, created six years ago, has noticed an increase of 60% of what they call online toxicity during Covid and 20% over the past year. It remains to be seen how much hate speech can actually be stopped and whether similar AI tools will also be picked by the next Grand Slam Wimbledon.
