We're wary of it. It was in the back of our heads but it didn't ruin the holiday, that's for sure. Everyone north of Tangalooma are told to prepare to flee as flames march west towards the towns of Cowan Cowan and Bullya. For now, the fire is contained but not controlled. We have the file currently where we want it. Reinforcements were sent last night. This group is from the Gold Coast. It's all happening at Moreton. It's difficult terrain to manage. Firefighters have just arrived with a big bog. It's the Aussie spirit. Yep. Everyone from the campgrounds came down with shovels. They gave them a push. Campers helped dig the visiting firefighters out as the convoy moved north towards danger. The fire ground burned so intensely, the sky glowed orange. Making the firefight even more difficult is the fact the wind is blowing in over the ocean. It means there's nothing in its path to slow it down before it reaches the flames and fans them even further across Moreton Island. Today the focus was backburning but stronger winds are expected next week as the fire's cause is confirmed. We had a campfire that became a rapidly moving fire. It's likely that they will get a fine.
