Mutamba is being prosecuted for alleged embezzlement linked to the construction of a new prison in Kisangani, with a $19 million transfer under scrutiny by the judiciary.

After the court dismissed objections from his legal team, Mutamba underwent over four hours of questioning. He described the proceedings as a historical trial and requested more time to present his case. The next hearing is scheduled to take place soon.

From the witness stand, he said that he was gambling with his future and asked to be given time to express himself. The next hearing was scheduled for 30th of July.
