Veteran players Kenny Bromwich and Mark Nicholls have announced their retirement, marking the end of their playing careers. Meanwhile, the Raiders have made adjustments to their lineup ahead of their own finals campaign, and other NRL teams continue to secure their spots in the top eight. Dolphins coach Wayne Bennett reflected on the season and expressed hope for a healthier start to the next pre-season.

Age hasn't affected James Tedesco, the Dallie M favourite helping the Chooks seal a top eight spot. A Mark Nwanganitawase hat-trick has the rugby convert on track to win the top tri-scorer gong. There's some things that we can learn from the freedom of their play and if any other ones want to come over then they're more than welcome. That loss likely secured super-coach Wayne Bennett's lowest ever finish on the NRL ladder. I'm looking forward, we've got everybody kind of cleaned up that we have to with injuries and that and I'm hoping that we can all start the pre-season together and not have a whole lot of players on bikes and sitting watching everyone else train.
