A line of severe storms will be possible along a cold front Wednesday afternoon bringing the chance for damaging wind gusts to places like Houston, San Antonio, Memphis and Nashville.

A severe weather threat is affecting areas from Texas through Tennessee and into Kentucky, with damaging winds and thunderstorms expected as a line of storms moves east. Warm temperatures and significant daytime heating are contributing to the development and intensity of these storms. While the storm line may not remain well-defined, some areas could experience strong thunderstorms, with the potential for multiple rounds of severe weather in a short period.

We have a lot of warm temperatures still in the south and we are going to see quite a line develop for us as we head into the afternoon and into the early evening hours and all of that is going to be sliding east and it doesn't hold together super well as this well-defined line per se but within it there are some stronger thunderstorms that will rumble through and you'll be like boy that was a big one and then it will be finished type of thing and then you might get another one.
