Well, that emergency press conference that we are expecting in about an hour and the spur of the moment protest outside of Trump Tower comes as the head of the person leading California's Border Patrol raids. Gregory Bovino announces his arrival in Chicago today. On X, he posted that he is here to continue operation at large, which was started in Los Angeles and says he plans to make the city safer by targeting undocumented immigrants. This afternoon, local high school students staged a protest near Trump Tower, many of them holding Mexican flags, as today is Mexican Independence Day. We were here to protest against ice. Ice is taking people off of the streets. They're separating families. We do not believe in that. And in about one hour, the Latino Leadership Council will meet here at Daly Plaza to hold a press conference in direct response to operation at large. During a separate press conference last week, we saw both local and state officials and are expecting the same tonight. Reporting live from Daly Plaza, Casey Cronus, Fox 32 Chicago. There was also another protest, this one in Melrose Park, the crowd condemning ice for the death of Silverio Villegas Gonzalez. He was shot and killed last week by an ICE agent during a traffic stop in Franklin Park. A rally organizer said they wanted to support his family. Today, we stay in solidarity with his family to know that they're not alone, that we're standing as a community. And I say this again, we are standing as a community, fighting back for that family and for many more. The rally was organized by PASO West Suburban Action Project. PASO is a social justice group that helps communities come together no matter their immigration status.
