The world's largest cryptocurrency has seen significant gains, increasing by about a third in value since the election of Donald Trump. This surge in value is attributed to investor confidence in a perceived crypto-friendly Trump administration.

Investors are optimistic about potential policy changes under Trump's leadership. During his campaign, Trump pledged to position the United States as a global leader in digital assets and promised to assemble a national Bitcoin reserve. This positive sentiment has extended to the broader cryptocurrency market, with both Ether and Dogecoin experiencing substantial gains. 

Dogecoin, in particular, saw a dramatic increase of 150% following the election, fueled partly by endorsement from Trump ally Elon Musk. Despite the current optimism, skeptics caution that cryptocurrencies are inherently volatile and their prices can fluctuate wildly.

The president-elect embraced digital assets during his campaign, promising to make the United States the, quote, crypto-capital of the planet and to accumulate a national stockpile of Bitcoin. And if Bitcoin is going to the moon, as we say, is going to the moon, I want America to be the nation that leads the way, and that's what's going to happen. Crypto investors see an end to increased scrutiny under U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission Chair Gary Gensler, whom Trump has said he will replace. Trump also unveiled a new crypto business of his own in September called World Liberty Financial. The recent crypto euphoria has extended across the crypto landscape, with smaller tokens such as Ether also seeing big gains. Dogecoin, promoted by Trump ally and now administration appointee Elon Musk, has rocketed around 150% since Election Day. However, sceptics warn that all such digital assets remain very volatile and could fall as fast as they've risen.
