As the founder of Paws for Purple Hearts, Bergen has dedicated her career to training dogs to support military veterans with mobility and mental health challenges. Over the past five decades, her nonprofit has trained around 200 dogs and countless trainers, impacting more than 20,000 wounded service members and veterans. Bergen, now 80, continues to lead the organization, which has brought significant improvements to the lives of veterans and their families.

Life is just better with a dog. You know, I love a Labrador, especially spectacular, unconditional love on blast. That's right.
