There is confirmation now that the subject had a relationship in Afghanistan with partner forces. We are fully investigating that aspect of his background. The U.S. is now reviewing all asylum cases approved under President Joe Biden and temporarily suspending all immigration requests by Afghan nationals. Afghans didn't commit a crime. One lone deranged gunman committed a crime. Advocates say the shooting should not be used to punish Afghans in the U.S. and particularly those who were wartime allies.
