A series of atmospheric rivers is bringing heavy rainfall and high winds to parts of the western United States, including Idaho, Montana, Seattle, Portland, and the Oregon coast, where up to 5 to 8 inches of rain are expected. Northern California is also forecast to be impacted over the next five days, with high wind and blizzard warnings issued for higher elevations, leading to travel disruptions.

Snow levels are currently high but are expected to decrease gradually as the week progresses. After a brief break in the weather, another storm system is anticipated to arrive, bringing additional rain and lower snow levels, particularly affecting Northern California by the end of the week.
