Israeli airstrikes on Yemen have killed at least 35 people, according to reports from local authorities. The attacks came shortly after Yemen's Houthi forces launched a drone strike that hit an airport in southern Israel. 

Most casualties occurred in Sana'a, where a military headquarters and a fuel station were among the sites targeted. The strikes also caused damage to nearby residential buildings. The Houthis have previously targeted Israel with missiles and drones, citing solidarity with Palestinians in Gaza, and had enforced a naval blockade in the Red Sea affecting commercial shipping.

Israel launched another round of heavy air strikes on Yemen Wednesday, killing dozens just days after Houthis carried out a drone attack that struck an Israeli airport. Most of those killed were in Sana'a, the capital, where a military headquarters and a fuel station were hit, the health ministry said. Al Masira, a local satellite news channel, said one of the strikes hit a building housing the military in central Sana'a. Neighboring houses were also damaged, the channel reported. Yemen's Houthi rulers have fired missiles and drones at Israel in what they say is a solidarity campaign with Palestinians in Gaza. Until this year, the Houthis had enforced a naval blockade in the Red Sea, striking commercial shipping bound for Israel. On Sunday, a Yemeni drone hit an airport in southern Israel.

Officials announced the suspect accused of fatally shooting conservative activist Charlie Kirk was arrested Thursday night. The suspect was identified as 22-year-old Tyler Robinson. "We got him," Utah Gov. Chris Cox said at the start of the news conference.
