The musical features reimagined versions of Keys’ songs and centers on themes of self-discovery, mentorship, and the mother-daughter relationship. The production is designed to resonate with audiences of all ages and backgrounds.

But first she invited local media to the stage to give a feel for the show. That means you're coming too, so let's go. Hi guys, how's it going? Creator and producer of Hell's Kitchen Alicia Keys says Cleveland is the perfect place to launch the national tour. You might know that my mother has roots in Ohio, born in Detroit, raised in Toledo, so it's kind of a big deal that we're starting off in Cleveland. I love this show with all my heart and to be able to see the dress last night was so incredible. The way that we've transferred the show from Broadway here is unbelievable. I was so excited about how you get to see the elements of the city here in this in this theater. Historic State Theater holds the first audiences to see the musical as it heads out across the nation. We will feel so good and in a time that we need as much uplifting as possible, this show is here to lift you up. Not autobiographical, says Keys, but inspired by her early life. It tells the tale of a 17 year old girl named Allie growing up in the Manhattan neighborhood of Hell's Kitchen, navigating life and love while finding yourself, your purpose, and the people who help shape us. I love this show because it's intergenerational no matter what age you are. You can bring your daughter or your son, you bring your friends, your brothers, your sisters, your mama, your grandparents, everybody understands this show and everybody's represented in this show. And so I think that one of the things that comes back is the mentorship piece and how each one of us has a memory of somebody who really set us on our path, who opened our eyes to something. Keys' iconic songs are reimagined in the show to bring forth the storyline that ultimately, she says, is a mother-daughter love story. I asked Keys about her mother's Ohio roots and the significance of her now launching this deeply meaningful show here. And I wouldn't even be the artist anywhere near the artist, definitely not the woman that I am without her. And so to think that here we go all these years later and we come back, you know, to the to the state that that started her off, you know, it's it's pretty special. I think, I don't know if that happened somehow planned. I think it was divine. I think it was a divine plan and and I think it's just it's just really grounds the whole the whole story.
