Two men have been arrested following a shooting that led to bullets flying through the windows of a local middle school.

Two men have been arrested following an incident in which gunfire struck a Dallas ISD middle school while students and teachers were present. Bullets damaged several windows at Ann Richards STEAM Academy, but no injuries were reported among the 13 students and two teachers in the affected classroom. 

According to police, the shots were fired from across Military Parkway. Witnesses identified the suspects as Jaden Bennett, 22, and De Andres Brown, 20, who both admitted to firing their guns and hitting the school. Both men are facing third-degree felony charges. The motive for the shooting has not been specified in court records.

Rosemary who asked we not use her last name was parked outside of and Richard Steam Academy waiting for her daughter after school Monday when she saw several police units and her daughter wouldn't come out. They're not letting us know anything and. I ended up coming back up here at two o'clock in the morning. Police say they found a gunshot wound on the wall with several windows being struck by stray bullets, according to police, 13 students and two teachers were in the classroom at the time. The shooting no one was hit. Everybody was frantic. Because nobody knew what was going on. According to court records, the gunfire came from across military Parkway. Witnesses told police who the shooters were. 22 year old Jaden Bennett and 20 year old de Andres Brown were both involved in the shooting. They say they were in the classroom when the gunshot happened. They say they saw several things in the backyard of a home and say Brown admitted the two fired their guns striking the school. Thankfully nobody got hurt, but I just it's just kind of crazy, especially like what things like going on right now. And while many are thankful, things didn't take a turn for the worst. I really have no worries because my little brother like could have been here yesterday and. He really got lucky. To be honest. Others are reflecting on the impact of the cell phone shot. I mean, you know, it's like you're in the middle of school, and you're like, you know, it's like 30 minutes, and then you're just like you're pulling your hair out. You don't know what to do. You don't know what to think. You don't know you're now you're praying like I hope it won one of my kids or I hope it ain't no kids.
