We're just showing how many of us there are, our attitude, our courage. We're fighting back. We're not going to go away. We will not be silenced. Supporters on Sunday criticized Trump for issuing executive orders limiting transgender rights, banning transgender people from serving in the armed forces, and rescinding anti-discrimination policies for LGBTQ plus people. The White House has defended its dismantling of diversity, equity and inclusion programs, calling DEI a form of discrimination, and said its transgender policy protects women by keeping transgender women out of shared spaces. Proponents of DEI consider it crucial to correct historic inequities. Bianca Sprague, the executive director of TransPride Washington, D.C., denounced the myriad state laws around the country targeting trans Americans. These attacks are not just legislative, they are deeply personal, inflicting harm, fear and despair upon our community. Backers of laws that ban gender-affirming health care for minors say they are attempting to protect them from starting on a path they may later regret.
