In response, US President Donald Trump shortened a previously set deadline, warning Russia to cease its attacks within 10 to 12 days or face new sanctions. The Kremlin has acknowledged Trump's statement.

Hours after a Russian missile strike damaged the building, workers at this hospital in southeastern Ukraine got to work on clearing the rubble. According to authorities, the strike on Kamiansk killed several people, among them a 23-year-old pregnant woman. These two buildings have been damaged. Hospital No. 9 is the main medical facility, not only for Kamiansk, but for the whole region. This here is a maternity ward. Over there is the therapy ward. The strike was just one of the many that hit all across Ukraine overnight. In Zaporizhia, officials said powerful glide bombs hit a prison, killing more than a dozen inmates and wounding scores of people. The attack destroyed the dining hall, administrative headquarters and quarantine area. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky took to social media to condemn the airstrikes, repeating his call for sanctions on Russia. This was done after a completely clear position was voiced by the United States, a position supported by the world that Russia must end this war and move to diplomacy. Moscow deserves very harsh, truly painful and therefore just and effective sanctions pressure. On Monday, US President Donald Trump moved up a 50-day deadline he'd given Russia two weeks ago, calling on President Vladimir Putin to stop attacks on Ukraine in the next 10 to 12 days or face tough new sanctions. On Tuesday, the Kremlin said it had taken note of the president's comments.
