The 17th edition of the International Military Music Festival has commenced in Moscow, with the event taking place in front of the Kremlin's Spasskaya tower on Red Square. This year, 27 military bands from 10 countries are participating, including Ethiopia, Burkina Faso, Zimbabwe, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, and the United Arab Emirates. Notably, Burkina Faso's Presidential Orchestra is participating for the first time, and Zimbabwe's Armed Forces Orchestra is also represented.

The festival is dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Soviet victory in what is known in Russia as the Great Patriotic War, referring to the Eastern Front of World War II. The event will continue until the end of August.
