Emergency services responded to the scene, stabilising the building and ensuring both Gilmour and the driver were safe. Authorities believe Gilmour's position inside the cubicle at the time of the crash prevented more serious injuries. Police are currently investigating the circumstances of the incident.

A visit to this roadside rest stop wasn't the break Georgia Gilmour had in mind when a car crashed into the public toilet she was in. I finished washing my hands, went to walk to the side of the door and yeah it just ploughed on top of me pretty much. The tiles all started to fall around me and scratch me and cut me a little bit. She knew she'd been hit, but not by what. I wasn't sure until I could see through the gap that there was a car that had actually hit the toilet block. The sound of the crash, a huge bang, brought nearby residents rushing out of their homes. I heard a scream from my office and I just ran down in my slippers and I saw the scene and I just checked if she was alright inside. Emergency services believe exactly where Georgia was inside the cubicle saved her. Minor injuries, she was very lucky had she been in a different position it would have been a bit of a technical rescue. But Georgia still spent more time in the toilet than she would have liked as rescue crews worked to get her out. We've shored up the structure, the roof of the structure, it's a bit unstable, isolated the power and we've alerted the relevant authorities to make it safe. The driver of the car involved in the crash is okay too. Police are investigating while Georgia heads to a news agency. I'm going to go buy a lotto ticket. Shaken and a bit scratched up but not too bad. I'm okay, I'm very lucky. Samara Gardner, 10 News.
