His supporters strongly back his candidacy, while critics argue his actions, such as withdrawing the U.S. from international agreements, are disqualifying.

Experts note that Trump's chances of winning the prize this year are low, partly because nominations closed before his recent involvement in Gaza. However, some Nobel historians believe he could be considered in the future if ongoing peace efforts are successful.

Winning a Nobel Peace Prize, it's a long-standing goal of Donald Trump. He's been fixated on it since his first term in office. I think I'm going to get a Nobel Prize for a lot of things if they gave it out fairly, which they don't. The U.S. president has brought it up numerous times in speeches and press conferences, boasting that everyone says, I should get it. We settled seven wars. We're close to settling an eighth. And I think we'll end up settling the Russia situation, which is horrible. I don't think anybody in history has settled that many, but perhaps they'll find a reason not to give it to me, you know? His supporters are behind him. Absolutely. A hundred percent. If it could be a thousand percent, absolutely. I think he is the best president we've ever had. While his detractors say his actions are disqualifying. I don't think he deserves it. I don't think he supports anything that involves peace. Trump is certainly looming large over the Nobel Committee, but many experts say his chances of winning this year are slim. He has actually, you know, withdrawing the U.S. from international cooperation. He has withdrawn the U.S. from the World Health Organization, from the peace, Paris Accords on climate. He has, you know, initiated a trade war on old friends and allies. Another obstacle, the nominations for this year's prize closed at the end of January, well before Trump's deal-making in Gaza resulted in a truce. Still, many Nobel Prize historians believe he could be a contender next year, especially if peace in Gaza holds and he ends the war in Ukraine.
