We got him. 22-year-old Tyler Robinson brought into police after his father recognised him from surveillance photos. Investigators interviewed a family member of Robinson who stated that Robinson had become more political in recent years. A top student in high school, Robinson only attended one semester studying engineering at Utah State University. Neighbours describing the young man as smart, quiet and respectful. This is a total shock because that's not who Tyler was. That's not who Tyler is and that's what shocks us all. But before the attacks, Robinson became absorbed in online chat rooms and reportedly spoke to his roommate about plans for the attack. He also spoke with his family about Kirk's event at the university. Robinson mentioned Charlie Kirk was coming to UVU. They talked about why they didn't like him and the viewpoints that he had. The family member also stated Kirk was full of hate and spreading hate. While investigators continue to probe Robinson's motive, they say etchings on several bullet casings included anti-fascist messages With Charlie Kirk's alleged killer now in custody, the focus is turning to broader issues like how to end this cycle of political violence and how to reunite a nation that seems more divided than ever.
