Uzbekistan's first lady, Zeroat Mirziyoeva, stressed that more than 2 billion children worldwide are at risk or suffer from non-communicable diseases, and she pointed out that there is a huge need of taking steps to prevent this tragedy. In the past few years, our country has implemented measures to reduce the risk of children's cancer, resources have been diversified, education and treatment standards have been improved, and the treatment conditions have been improved with the help of the WHO. In 2025 and 2030, the National Strategy on Children Against Cancer was adopted. The event gathered first ladies from Turkey, Azerbaijan, Angola, Vietnam, Guatemala, and Serbia, along with health ministers and representatives from over 25 countries. Uzbekistan is actively contributing to the global movement for children's health. In recent years, the country has implemented large-scale programs to reduce child cancer mortality and expanded access to medicines. We have witnessed lots of progress in Uzbekistan, and over the last several years we have seen a clear acceleration towards that goal, and I think it's a great example for other republics in the region and globally to follow. Organizers said that 60% target represents not just a number but a global promise that no child, no matter what they are born, should be left without a fair chance to survive cancer.
