While not all areas were impacted, those who experienced flooding are now assessing the extent of the damage. Residents are focusing on cleanup and recovery, and local authorities are monitoring the situation as additional rain is anticipated.

As the rains came down and the floods came up, we've been hearing from you about all the rain and what it's done to your roads, basements, and neighborhoods, and more rain is coming tonight. We'll check in with Utah's weather authority, Breck Bolton, in just a moment. But first, Fox 13 news reporter, Scott McCain, joins us live from Weber County. And Scott, there was lots of water up there today. Yeah, good afternoon, Bob. You know, the old saying, you know, you don't like the weather, stick around, it'll change. And what a difference eight or nine hours made here in Weber County. You know, it's beautiful out right now. It's warm and sunny, but earlier this morning, the folks behind us here across the street, they wind up taking the brunt of last night's little rainstorm here. We're gonna show you some video now, some home video of what Josh Medivier and his young family woke up to this morning. We're talking overnight rainfall. It wasn't exactly a deluge, but it winds up soaking their backyard and the water had nowhere to go, but into their basement. And Josh says, look, you know, I got up around seven. No problem. Got up about an hour and a half later to let the dogs out. Oh man, it was a big difference. The whole backyard was flooded. And he said that only compounds what he and his young family are dealing with in terms of no sleep. It's tough with a new baby and two other small kids and just barely moved here. Like this, it's life, but it's tough. Yeah, you could hear it in Josh's voice. He was pretty, pretty relaxed talking. It was probably because he was exhausted, but we thank him for lending a few minutes of his time to speak with us today. Now he rents the home here, but he and the homeowner quickly got on the case. They got a disaster cleanup crew in here and they were beginning to clean up and salvage what they can from all of this, from that downstairs, beautiful home, only about three years old with a fully finished basement downstairs. Basically a separate home with a kitchen. That is all now being looked at to kind of determine what the damage is. He says they have no idea yet. They're just starting to kind of take stock of everything. They're just glad everyone's okay. And he was kind of taking it all in stride, but boy, that was a big mess here. Didn't happen everywhere, but for the folks that were hit like Josh and his family, it was pretty significant. For now we're live in Weber County, Scott McCain, Fox 13 News, Utah.
