Two young children were killed, and 17 others were injured in a shooting during a Catholic Mass packed with young students in Minneapolis. The gunman is also dead.

A shooting at a Catholic school in Minneapolis has left two children, aged eight and ten, dead and 17 others wounded. According to police, the suspect, a white male in his early 20s and believed to be a local resident, fired from outside the building through the windows, including stained glass in the church, striking children inside. 

Authorities report that the suspect was armed with a rifle, shotgun, and pistol, and died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound at the scene. Investigations are ongoing to determine any connection the suspect may have had with the school.

Well, what we learned from Chief O'Hara just there, the suspect is in his early 20s. We can report the suspect is a white male in his early 20s and our sources believe that he's a resident near where this school is and we continue to report this out and try to find any connection that he might have had with the school. We just heard a narrative that he was shooting from the outside of the building through the windows, including stained glass windows in the church. So those bullets were shattering those windows and they struck the children in the pews as we've been reporting. So tragic. An eight-year-old and a ten-year-old killed, 14 other children wounded, 17 total were wounded. In addition to the two that were killed, the suspect took his own life. Police believe it was a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Reed? And it looks like he had planned this by virtue of the fact that he showed up rifle, shotgun, and pistol at hand to fire those deadly bullets. Anna Schechter, thank you so much.
