Kennedy Jr. Condemnation also prevailed among Democrats. In a message on X, former President Barack Obama sent prayers to Kirk's family and called the assassination a despicable act of violence. Many right-wing figures like billionaire Elon Musk followed Trump's rhetoric and blamed Kirk's death on the so-called radical left. Kirk's murder comes amid a rise in political violence in the US. Donald Trump has ordered that all American flags across the country be lowered until Sunday to honour the conservative activists.
