Police in Bondi, New South Wales, are responding to a shooting incident that occurred near a bridge approximately 300 metres from the scene. Authorities are focusing their investigation on a nearby car park, searching for a potential suspect vehicle and other evidence.

There are also suspicions regarding the presence of an improvised explosive device (IED) near the bridge. Police operations remain active in the area as officers continue their investigation and monitor for further developments.

Yeah, look, the bridge where those shots were fired from is only about 300 metres behind me and then in front of that is a car park and that's where a lot of police activity is happening right now. You can see those blue and red flashing lights. Police are combing through that car park right now to figure out whether the suspects have a car in that car park and to go through and see if there might be anything in there. Now, we have also heard about there are suspicions that there might be that IED and police are looking at whether or not that is the case. We believe a point of interest with that improvised explosive device is around the bridge, but of course that is only around 300 metres away from me right now, so this area is buzzing with police activity tonight. We'll keep you posted if we learn more.
