Reports suggest that while there were initial reservations from Israeli leadership, Trump has insisted on moving forward with the plan. The situation remains fluid as indirect talks continue in Egypt.

We don't need flexibility because everybody's pretty much agreed to it. But there'll always be some changes. But the Hamas plan, I tell you, it's amazing. You're going to have peace. If you think about it, peace in the Middle East for the first time in, as they say, really 3,000 years. So I'm very honored to be a big part of that. They've been fighting for a plan for years. We get the hostages back almost immediately. Negotiations are going on right now, will probably take a couple of days, and people are very happy about it. Good morning. Secretary of State Marco Rubio appeared on the Sunday morning news shows, and it was notable how he swatted away the complaints that those opposed to negotiations have been making, that Hamas is stringing the president along, and that the Israeli captives need to be released now. Are you concerned at all that this is a play for more time, a stalling tactic? Yeah, and I don't think that's an accurate, just fairly an accurate description of what's happened here. The way to think about this is twofold. Number one is Hamas has accepted the entire construct of President Trump's proposal for releasing the hostages. That's number one. Is a full release by October 7th the demand? Well, I don't know about the date. I'd be great if it was before October 7th. We wish it would happen yesterday. But there are realities here, and then there are things people do to impede progress. Reality is, this is a war zone. I mean, this is a place that suffered a tremendous amount of destruction. That fighting needs to stop. The White House has been leaking anecdotes to the press that reveal the Israeli prime minister did not want to accept Hamas' response to the president's 20-point plan for Gaza, but that President Trump made it clear Benjamin Netanyahu had no choice. It's true that in the past, stories about rifts between the U.S. and Israel have proved only to be excuses designed to prolong Israel's war.
