Of course, the cost is enormous and the situation is very difficult. Despite the danger in Gaza City, some people don't want to leave. We categorically reject displacement from Gaza City to the south. If we are displaced, it means Gaza will no longer exist. Israel's far-right finance minister, Besseles Modric, called for Israel to begin annexing parts of the Gaza Strip if the militant group Hamas does not surrender. We're shutting off water, shutting off electricity, shutting off everything after we've moved everyone south of the Morag corridor. There will only be Hamas terrorists left in the rest of the Gaza Strip who will either surrender or die of hunger and thirst. This is completely legal, completely legitimate. We're talking about Hamas terrorists and only them. The UN has condemned Israel's plans to take over Gaza City. Secretary General António Guterres says there is no military solution to the conflict. I appeal once again for an immediate and permanent ceasefire and further humanitarian access across Gaza and the immediate and unconditional release of all hostages. Starvation of the civilian population must never be used as a method of warfare. Civilians must be protected, humanitarian access must be unimpeded. No more excuses, no more obstacles, no more lies.
