Scientists raise alarm over dangerous chemicals in acne products

Independent laboratory Valeshure says it found high levels of benzene, a cancer-causing chemical, in several acne products from brands including Clearasil, Proactiv and Targets Up and Up. The lab says its tests suggest benzene is likely in most benzoyl peroxide creams and it's starting a petition for the FDA to recall the products. Researchers say the chemical came from contaminated ingredients and some products tested hundreds of times above the FDA limit.
