During this routine flight, the Chinese aircraft executed a maneuver that involved detonating flares in the helicopter's flight path, approximately 300 meters in front and 60 meters above the Seahawk. This action, although not resulting in any injuries to the crew aboard the Australian helicopter, posed a serious risk that could have led to significant damage had the flares made contact. The Defence Minister, Richard Miles, has publicly voiced his concerns over this incident, labeling it as a serious breach of international norms and has communicated these concerns to the Chinese authorities.

Now he has spoken out to the Chinese to express his concerns but he has called it completely unacceptable.
