A 39-year-old woman has been stabbed in the carpark of the Crunch Fitness gym in Alexandria, Sydney's inner-south. Witnesses say the woman ran into the gym bleeding from her face. Police say it is a suspected domestic violence incident.

A manhunt is currently underway following a stabbing incident in the carpark of the Crunch Fitness gym located in Alexandria, Sydney's inner-south. A 39-year-old woman suffered injuries to her head, neck, and chest after being stabbed. According to witnesses, the victim sought refuge inside the gym, visibly bleeding, prompting staff members and gym-goers to provide assistance and call for emergency services. 

The authorities have classified the attack as a suspected domestic violence incident. Police are actively searching for a 40-year-old man believed to be connected to the crime and have urged him to surrender. It has been disclosed that the victim and the suspect were known to each other and may have shared a brief relationship. 

The assault occurred in the afternoon, leaving members of the gym in shock as they witnessed the aftermath of the violent encounter. Eyewitness accounts detail a confrontation in the carpark that escalated to the stabbing, with one bystander assisting the woman back to the gym while the attacker fled the scene. The victim is currently in a stable condition in the hospital. Police are working to secure an arrest warrant for the suspect, expressing confidence in apprehending him.

It was around 12.30 this afternoon when a woman, she's 39 years old and she was stabbed in the car park underneath Crunch Fitness here in Alexandria. We understand she sustained injuries to her head, neck and chest. Now she managed to make her way inside the gym where people inside including staff were able to assist her and call emergency services. Now by the time paramedics and police arrived this offender had left the scene and this afternoon gym goers described their shock as they were faced with this confronting scene as this woman ran into the gym bleeding heavily from her face. A couple got into an argument I think and then she got stabbed apparently and she ran all the way upstairs and she was bleeding from the neck, from her ears. He was on top of the girl and because of distance I don't know what he was trying to do to her. It looks like he was attacking her or he was trying to rob her. Another guy in the car park escorted her back to the gym and she just dropped everything on the floor, literally just ran away with a guy trying to protect her and then the other guy who was attacking her just ran away. Sandra we know that 39 year old woman is in a stable condition in hospital tonight. Police are urgently trying to get an arrest warrant for this man. At the moment all they've been able to tell us is that the two are known to each other. They do believe that the pair were in a short relationship at some point and they are urging this man to hand himself in to police or as they've said themselves they are actively hunting him and they are confident they will track him down.
