Prosecutors say one of the suspects, mercenary Horatiu Portra, formed a paramilitary group after meeting Georgescu and that the group planned violent, subversive actions. Georgescu was barred from the rerun of the election, which was ultimately won by pro-EU candidate Nikos Ardan.
