Police activity intensified in Bondi, New South Wales, as emergency services responded to an incident near a local park. Roads were blocked and a bomb disposal unit was brought to the scene, though authorities did not confirm any imminent threat. 

During the response, some parents and children who had been separated amid the chaos were reunited with the help of police. The situation remained active, with several people at the scene visibly affected and emergency services continuing their operations.

Chris, there's an increased amount of police activity once again down here. As you can see behind me, still plenty of emergency services on scene with that road blocked off. We are directly across the road from the park in which all of this took place earlier this evening. But just in the last few minutes or so, a number of police cars leaving this scene at speed. I cannot stress how fast they got out of here. So very unclear where they're headed to next, but clearly this is still a developing situation and police is very much still responding to things. We've also seen the bomb disposal unit move in here at Bondi. Again, it's unclear why that's been brought in. We haven't heard that there is an imminent threat or anything of that kind, but certainly emergency services taking no chances. That bomb disposal unit came in just a few minutes ago and we are yet to hear from police, of course, if there is any update to that. We've also seen down here some incredible reunions. It does appear that some parents became separated from their children during this incredibly chaotic time. Now, I cannot imagine what those parents have been through this afternoon, but we have seen some incredibly emotional reunions, mothers and fathers and children reunited thanks to the work of police officers here at Bondi Beach, but certainly very much an active police situation down here on Campbell Parade. There's still a number of people lingering here on the corner. Some of them were certainly still covered in blood and still very much coming to terms with everything that they'd seen this afternoon.
