There he is, Congressman Byron Donalds, Republican of Florida, and hopefully the future governor of Florida. He is running, running strong. And Congressman Donalds was a friend of Charlie Kirk. That's quite a moment there, Congressman Donalds. We want to talk about crime, we want to talk about legislation that you're initiating, but if you don't mind, what's this moment about? And tell us your memories of Charlie Kirk, if you don't mind. I mean, look, first, I would say, you know, we lost one of the great ones in politics. You're not going to see another Charlie Kirk. Somebody who had the ability to go out there and engage young people, while at the same time being able to build one of the great organizations in politics. I know during the inauguration, I said to him, we would not be here, we would not have won without you. And you know, for Charlie, it was obviously a moment of pride, but it was also really, you could see the humbleness on his face, because he was a man of God. He was somebody who was great to everybody. He was a kind and decent human being to everyone, whether the cameras were rolling or whether they were not. He was the same person on both sides. And so he's going to be missed. It's a very tough time. But I think the resolve of the conservative movement is going to be stronger because of the life and the commitment and the success of Charlie Kirk. Absolutely. Yeah, it wouldn't have happened without him, probably. So look, I want you to, if you don't mind, listen to Muriel Bowser, who's kind of like a little bit all over the place on crime in D.C. Check this out, D03. Will D.C. police continue to cooperate and coordinate with ICE after the emergency expires? That's not part of our mayor's order requires the pre-surge status quo. Immigration enforcement is not what MPD does. And with the end of the emergency, it won't be what MPD does in the future. Oh, wow. The pre-surge status quo. That sounds great. Congressman, how can we fix Washington? We fix it by what we're doing right now. We're led by President Trump and members of Congress on the Hill are taking their constitutional responsibilities seriously and making sure that the federal enclave, Washington, D.C., is safe not only for the citizens here in D.C., but for everybody who comes to the nation's capital. I think where Muriel Bowser and the D.C. City Council and a lot of the D.C. activists, where they always get it wrong as they assume that they have full local control to do what they want, and they simply do not, Congress is the arbiter of what laws get passed or what regulations get passed in D.C. We've given a lot of that to the city council and they've been making those decisions. But when it comes to something basic as law and order, they have failed. And so now Donald Trump and Republicans on Capitol Hill, we're going to do what's necessary to make sure that D.C. is safe. And so we already have the temporary guys in there. This measure, it's going to pass, right? You have a kind of, it's going to maintain that youth offenders remain youth offenders or we have to make certain information public? That's correct. Actually, coming out of committee, it was bipartisan. We had one Democrat vote with all Republicans on that bill. We anticipate it's going to pass off of the House floor tomorrow. There'll probably be some Democrats that'll join us. Frankly, all Democrats should join us, but we'll see how that goes. And then it'll go to the Senate and we'll see what Leader Thune and Chuck Schumer decide to do. I think Leader Thune should put this bill on the floor immediately in the Senate. Let Senate Democrats decide they don't want a safe Washington, D.C. That'll be on them. But what we have to do is make sure that the policies of the federal enclave, Washington, D.C. are here to protect all Americans and that the people who live in D.C., they're protected as well. Hey, real quick, after in Florida, that horrible crash, the illegal alien making that crazy U-turn and all the people who were killed, you've got something here. It's called the Weigh Act, W-E-I-G-H. Could you give us the lowdown on that? And does it have anything to do with weighing trucks, you know, those great big weigh stations? Is that part of it? That is part of it. You know, under the leadership of Ron DeSantis and our agriculture commissioner, Wilton Simpson, the state of Florida, after that horrific crash, started using some of the weigh stations in Florida to also do checks on whether people were able to be proficient in English and also look at their CDL license. So we looked at what the state of Florida did and we're taking that same action using the president's executive order to codify that into law and allow for the Department of Transportation to use every weigh station in the United States to check for English proficiency with people who are driving, you know, these large trucks with CDLs and to make sure that their CDL is actually valid and they should have that license. This is common sense policy. And I would say the stick is that if you have a state like, let's say, California, that says that they don't want to do that in their state, well, then they're subject to lose federal funding for transportation. If California doesn't want to do what is right, which is making sure that our roadways are protected from illegal aliens and people who can't even read our signs, then they don't deserve federal money. That's what the Way Act does. We anticipate that'll get a hearing here in Congress very, very soon. We love you as congressman. We're going to love you more as governor. Good luck, Byron Donalds.
