Many residents in these northern cities are unprepared, as air conditioning is less common due to historically milder summers. The heat wave is expected to persist, keeping temperatures above normal for several days.

Let's talk about the heat, because it's a big deal in the Pacific Northwest. I mean, you've got heat advisories, even excessive, you know, extreme heat warnings in the pink all the way down to Phoenix, where it's going to be in the triple digits. Triple digit heat for the Central Valley of California, but Seattle, Portland, this is way above where we typically are, and that's why a lot of people don't have AC. Even another day in the 90s in Los Angeles, which I know people are not too happy about. There's your average high in Seattle, 77. We are well above that for the next couple of days. Next stop, Portland. 81s are normal, but as you can see, we're in the 90s all the way through Tuesday.
