In Melbourne, tensions between groups were managed by police, preventing violence, while thousands marched to the US consulate and similar demonstrations occurred nationwide. 

In Sydney, police restricted protest access to the Opera House, with crowds instead gathering on George Street. Speakers included members of an aid flotilla and a Gaza journalist. Despite the ceasefire, many protesters expressed scepticism about the peace deal and called for continued action. Organisers have announced plans for further marches, including a National Day of Action.

CHEERING The ceasefire in Gaza viewed as temporary relief. But there's also a lot of scepticism. Obviously, Donald Trump and Tony Blair are involved in whatever peace deal is being brokered. So, we're not really trusting the Trump administration. A peace deal doesn't mean Israel is being held to account for its crimes. Sentiments shared during smaller rallies in Brisbane, Canberra and Adelaide. Plans are already in place for more marches in the weeks and months ahead.
