Authorities are seeking the public's help in locating the person who carried out a mass shooting at Brown University on Saturday that left two people dead and several others injured.

Police in Providence, Rhode Island, are continuing their search for the suspect involved in the shooting at Brown University that resulted in the deaths of two students and injuries to nine others. Authorities have released new surveillance footage of a person of interest and are urging the public to provide any information, photos, or videos that could assist in identifying the shooter.

The victims have been identified as 19-year-old Ella Cook and 18-year-old Mohammad Azizu Mirzakov. Seven of the injured remain in critical condition at Rhode Island Hospital, while the investigation is ongoing with the involvement of both local police and the FBI.

Police had a person of interest until they say new evidence came forward pointing them in a different direction. Scripps News National Correspondent Katie Tubman tracking the investigation for us. Katie, what do we know at this hour? Well Del, the manhunt continues for the suspect in the Brown University shooting over the weekend that left two students dead and injured nine other people. Now authorities have released new video footage that they're hoping will link them to the identity of the suspect or a person of interest. Meanwhile, communities are grieving over yet another act of violence on a school campus. New footage of a person of interest in the Brown University shooting has been released by authorities Monday afternoon. The video showing a person in dark clothing walking down a sidewalk and another surveillance video clip are now clues to help identify the shooter. The video that we released is the clearest picture we have of the individual we believe to be responsible but that doesn't mean that there isn't other evidence. We're talking about trying to get a clear shot of an individual with identifiable features. As the investigation continues, more information about the victims are coming to light. Tragically, one of our parishioners, Ella Cook, was one of those who was killed yesterday. Nineteen-year-old sophomore Ella Cook from Birmingham, Alabama, was the vice president of the College Young Republicans at Brown University. White House Press Secretary Caroline Leavitt on X saying there are no words, responding to a statement from the president of College Republicans of America calling Cook brave and bold. The second fatality identified, Mohammad Azizu Mirzakov, an 18-year-old freshman from Virginia who graduated high school just a few months ago. His family and a GoFundMe calling him incredibly funny, kind and smart with aspirations to be a neurosurgeon. The shooter fired more than 40 rounds inside their Brown University classroom during exams on campus Saturday. The attack caused chaos and a campus-wide lockdown. The shooter remains at large. We still have hopefully hours but maybe days or more ahead and that's what I'm focused on trying to provide some reassurance to my community. Now Del, the Providence Police Department said that more video is set to be released as the investigation develops and officers as well as FBI agents are going door-to-door in neighborhoods close to the campus asking for information, photos and videos and tips they said can be sent to the FBI website or to the Providence Police Department tip line. Del? Katie, you can only imagine the trauma on the campus now as the manhunt is once again underway. What are we learning about the status of the victims who are wounded? Well Del, there were nine people injured, at least nine, and they're being treated at the Rhode Island Hospital. And seven people remain in critical condition according to officials. One has been stabilized and the ninth victim was identified hours after the shooting with non-life-threatening injuries from fragments from bullets. Del?
