A 67-year-old man has died after being struck by a car in Gregory Hills. Police  arrived to find the man critically injured. Paramedics treated him at the scene before he was taken to Liverpool Hospital, where he later died.

A 67-year-old man died after being struck by a silver SUV while standing beside his parked vehicle in Gregory Hills, NSW. The incident occurred as the man and his family had stopped to readjust straps on a table they had purchased, when the SUV hit him and fled the scene. The impact threw the man 20 metres, and he later died in hospital despite paramedic treatment at the scene. Police are appealing for the driver of the SUV, as well as any witnesses, including the driver of a nearby dual cab ute, to come forward with information. Authorities believe the SUV sustained significant damage, particularly to its front left side.

Moments earlier, the 67-year-old man was standing at his driver's door when he was cleaned up by a passing silver SUV and flung 20 metres, landing underneath a parked car. His family, hysterical. He was responsive but he couldn't move, his right side of the full face was, I don't know how much was scrapped off, but it was full of blood. He was treated by paramedics at the scene before being taken to hospital, where he died. It's understood the family pulled over and parked legally in Gregory Hills just after 10pm to readjust the straps on a table they'd fastened to the roof that was just purchased from Facebook Marketplace. I don't believe that the driver of the silver colour SUV would not have known that he hit something. The impact was so severe, the door almost ripped clean from the vehicle. Neighbours who heard the SUV screeching away are now pleading with the driver who failed to stop to hand themselves in. You've done the wrong thing, but come forward and you'll be much better off. And so would the family of the poor man that's deceased. I think someone will know who owns that vehicle. There would be some damage on the vehicle, the front left headlight is broken and we believe there would be major damage along the front left guard. Police are also appealing to the driver of a dual cab ute just seconds in front who may have witnessed the hidden run to come forward. Olivia Blunden, 10 News.
