The family of 10 were forced to leave Tal al-Hawa, a neighbourhood in central Gaza City under heavy Israeli bombardment. We're dying here for 30 kilometres I've been pulling and pushing the car. The cost for a battery is 2000, 3000 dollars. Enough suffering, we're exhausted, we're exhausted, I can't, I really can't. Despite new talks about a potential ceasefire being underway, many in Gaza feel abandoned and don't know who or what to believe anymore. We keep calling for help but no one cares about us. Not Arab leader, not a president, not any human on earth. It's all lies, there is no truth, no ceasefire. There is a plan in Netanyahu's head and he wants to carry it out. Whatever we say is pointless, there is nothing left, we're finished. Another displaced family has made camp right by the road. Suad Mukad, an Egyptian married to a Palestinian, was injured in recent weeks. She lost her son in the war. There is no safe place in Gaza, she says. They talk a lot. From the beginning of the war they've been saying, on Thursday there is a truce, on Friday there is a truce, listen, on Sunday there is a truce and so on. But this talk is all lies, all of this, they are cheating the people with it and trying to keep people quiet. Still on the move, Hadil Al-Faran, her mother and her siblings left Gaza City on foot. Her father was killed during the war. They can't afford transport and don't know where they'll stay outside of the city. The whole road was exhausting, my poor siblings. We were supposed to have transportation provided, something to get us there. We're worn out. We walk a bit and sit, walk a bit and sit. We're leaving Gaza City now, heading south. But we don't know if we'll ever return or not. What will happen to us? What will it be like there? She has little hope in any of the politicians holding talks. She's just desperate for the war to stop. Enough already. Our father has died. What more do you want to take? What is left? They keep talking about a truce and keep making empty excuses, just words. From what I see, there is manipulation going on between, let me say, both sides. Manipulation. What is happening? We don't know. We, the people of Gaza, only want safety. Just end the war. We're ready to sleep in the street, to sleep anywhere. Here in Gaza, the relentless conflict has been chasing people from place to place for so long, the talks of ceasefire and peace in Washington feel very far away.
