After some 49 dog years, K9 West is retiring with a special party celebrating his legacy. West was the Ottawa Police Service's first trauma support dog and during his career, he offered comfort to survivors and victims, and gave strength to his police peers. He also helped raise more than $50,000 for the non-profit National Service Dogs.
