The surge in tourism has led to large crowds, with some visitors noting the high volume but praising the organization and the beauty of the interior.

Attendance at religious ceremonies has also increased, with mass now drawing up to 1,000 people compared to around 100 before the fire. On average, Notre-Dame now welcomes about 30,000 visitors daily. The cathedral is preparing to open its towers to the public for the first time during European Heritage Days.

Today, more than ever, Notre-Dame is a star. Nine months after reopening, the cathedral is breaking its records, attracting more visitors than any other French monument. It's more beautiful, it's lighter, there are many paintings. The glass, I mean the windows, some of the restoration from the fire in 2019. Definitely the windows. We were afraid of long lines, but everything was well-organized, everything went smoothly. The cathedral's success has even discouraged certain visitors. Yes, very crowded. Very crowded, yes. Too? Too much? Too many tourists. People like us. We'll come back another time. The new interior is well worth the visit. From the stained glass, to the paintings, to the crown of thorns on display the first Friday of each month. As well as the unprecedented light that floods the cathedral thanks to the newly-cleaned vaulted ceiling. Even mass has benefited from the surge in tourism. Before the fire, around 100 people came for mass. Today, the ceremony regularly draws 400 to 800 people, sometimes up to 1,000. Seeing it burn, I think that created a sense of intimacy. We all have that sense of intimacy with Notre-Dame, and we all want to see it in that intimacy. Whether you walk in, like three-quarters of visitors, reserve, or come for mass, Notre-Dame is open to all. On average, the landmark sees 30,000 visitors a day. Soon, for European Heritage Days, the cathedral's towers will also open to the public for the first time.
