The National Hurricane Center has now designated the two tropical waves in the Atlantic as Invest 93L and Invest 94L. Invest 93L, the easternmost wave, will likely develop into a tropical depression first, potentially by Thursday or Friday. Invest 94L is the wave we are more concerned about as any U.S. impacts are uncertain at this time.

The National Hurricane Center (NHC) is tracking two weather systems, Invest 93L in the east and Invest 94L in the west, with increased probabilities of development over the next week. Invest 93L has a 90 percent chance and 94L a 60 percent chance of developing, as both systems move northeast.

A high-pressure ridge over the Great Lakes and northeast may influence the paths of these systems, potentially causing them to move west. An old frontal boundary in the area could also affect their movement and may lead to flooding before the storms become more organized. Invest 93L could pose a risk to Bermuda, while both systems may bring issues to the mid-Atlantic region.

All right so let's deal with 93 first which is the eastern storm and then 94 which is the western storm. Both of these probabilities have gone up 90 and 60 percent respectively over the next seven days. But here we go 94, 93, Gabby heading off to the east and both of these heading to the northeast. Now look at what happens with the pattern. All right you've got this high pressure ridge that builds over the Great Lakes in the northeast. So that may trap this, may trap this so that it has to come west. Remember too there's going to be an old frontal boundary sitting out and through here so it may get caught up in that. What if the frontal boundary though is back here? Now we get a flood situation and we may even have some flooding on Friday before this even becomes an issue. Then of course you know 93 which is going to be potentially impactful for Bermuda. This is a storm that goes far enough to the west or close enough to be an issue. So 93, 94 but some issues potentially for the mid-Atlantic region.
