Former NSW Police officer Beau Lamarre-Condon has told a Supreme Court judge that he "will not be silenced" and declared "the truth will prevail" as his trial over the alleged murders of Jesse Baird and Luke Davies was set down for next September.

A former police officer has pleaded not guilty to the murders of Jesse Baird and Luke Davies, but admitted guilt to one count of manslaughter relating only to Baird. During a Supreme Court appearance, the accused made a public outburst, expressing remorse and demanding his statements be recorded, while also alleging misconduct and corruption by police and the state's top prosecutor.

Police allege the officer used his service weapon in the killings and hid the victims' bodies in surfboard bags, which were later found on a remote property. The upcoming trial is expected to last up to three months and involve around 200 witnesses. The accused opposed any suppression of the proceedings and made no statement regarding Davies' death.

Moments after pleading not guilty to the two murders, the former police officer made a shocking outburst in the Supreme Court, whilst in the local court, I made a formal offer to the DPP of guilty to one count of manslaughter relating to Jesse Baird and Jesse Baird only. Demanding, I want this noted on the transcript, I do take accountability, I am remorseful. He's accused of using his police-issued gun to kill Jesse Baird and Luke Davies after breaking into Mr Baird's Sydney home two years ago. Not only do I want the public to know what actually happened, but claimed there'd been serious misconduct and corruption by police. Alleging the state's top prosecutor was partly complicit. While police today stated they cannot comment on matters before the court, sitting in the back, the accused mother, Colleen, nodded as he spoke out. While not commenting outside, police claim her son hid Jesse and Luke's bodies in surfboard bags found on a remote property nine days after they went missing. Today as his double murder trial was set down for September next year, the court heard it will take up to three months and hear from as many as 200 witnesses. But again the accused wanted to be heard, saying he was strongly opposed to any of it being suppressed. The truth will always prevail and I will not be silenced, but in this, his first public statement on the killings, he was largely silent on Mr Davies' death, offering no words of remorse nor accountability.
