An incredible race, that was just absolutely nuts. Changes, people falling off, drivers going anywhere, and one of the first times ever, the first man across the finish line was not the winner. That was James Golding. He crossed first, but he had a five-second penalty from an incident just a few laps before, which meant the car that crossed second, Matt Payne, was the winner. He's just 23 years of old. He's from New Zealand, Auckland, New Zealand. His co-driver, of course, Garth Tander. That is his sixth win at Bathurst. The pair started the day in 18th. Well, the conditions were absolutely terrible. Is this the wettest Bathurst we've seen? I'm not sure quite the wettest. The record, 20.8 millimetres. That was back in 2000, but certainly impossible to control these cars. We had some of the best drivers in Australia just crashing out and unable to quite control that, but especially the visibility. The last 10 laps, the clouds went right down over the mountain. The drivers could barely see a thing. It was a chaotic day, to be sure, but a very memorable one. Absolutely amazing final scenes there with a sort of a lesser-known driver getting across the finish line second, but yet to win it, as so many big names went crashing into the fences there. James, one of the drivers could claim the most Aussie response ever to being knocked out of the race. What happened? Yeah, Chas Mosser was having some car troubles for most of the first part of the race, and after a safety car went off and they restarted, his car just wasn't able to go with it. It carked out, so he jumped out the car. First thing he did, strolled up, met a couple of fans, grabbed a beer and celebrated that way. Got the post-match celebrations started early. Definitely one of the most Australian things you will see. You don't see that anywhere else in the world.
