Organisers in Brisbane estimated up to 50,000 participants, while police reported a crowd of around 12,000. Protesters called for sanctions on Israel, an arms embargo, and Australian divestment from companies supplying military components. The events were largely peaceful, with only minor disruptions quickly addressed by police. Similar rallies occurred in over 40 towns and cities, making it one of the largest coordinated protests of its kind in Australia. Participants included a diverse range of communities, with some Jewish Australians joining in solidarity, and organisers emphasised the ongoing nature of their advocacy.

Police say it was more likely a crowd of around 12,000. Regardless, they were all marching for one reason, for one purpose, peace in Palestine. The world needs to know what's going on. We need to give a voice. And the world is listening. My family in Gaza know about you today. They know you are here for them today. Demonstrators calling for sanctions on Israel, arms embargoes and Australian divestment from companies which build parts for Israeli war machines. We want peace, we want sanctions on the Israeli government, we want the aid to get through and we want those weapons components and that two-way arms trade with Israel to stop. It was a long road leading to today, just as for Palestine originally proposed to walk across the Story Bridge. It would have mirrored Sydney's demonstration two weeks ago where close to 100,000 people descended on the Harbour Bridge, but a Brisbane court said no, worried about safety. And if you think this is the last time, we'll try and challenge those institutions to cross the Story Bridge. You'll be mistaken because we'll do it again! CHEERING A small disruption to a very peaceful protest was quickly removed. CHEERING Queensland Police swift to act and gave the man his marching orders. Overall, police were pleased with crowd behaviour. Events like these are being held in 40 towns and cities around Australia today. They are the largest demonstrations of their kind. People we've spoken to say they simply can't stand by any more without saying something. Elsewhere, a sunny day in Sydney brought out thousands. We will fight you, we will win! We will fight you, we will win! United in their calls for an end to the suffering and starvation of Palestinians. All of the people in Palestine who have been murdered are human beings just like us! South Australia made sure they were heard too, their voices ringing out across the city of churches. Palestine is forever! Calls that were echoed in Melbourne where organisers say 100,000 people flooded the heart of the city and took a moment to remember the littlest victims of a brutal war. 15,000 children are dead! And the journalists who died telling their stories, joined by a strong cohort of the Jewish community in a powerful show of solidarity, a national day of action. Woo, woo, woo, Palestine! They marched in the capital too. From the river to the sea! Palestine will be free! Hoping people power can capture attention and spark change.
