AccuWeather's Bernie Rayno and Joe Lundberg look ahead to next week's weather. Most of the country is going to be warm, but unfortunately, the dry weather will persist from the Tennessee Valley into the Ohio Valley.

Meteorologists are forecasting a predominantly warm and dry pattern across most of the United States. High pressure is expected to maintain cool mornings and warmer afternoons, with a notable lack of rainfall for regions such as the Tennessee and Ohio Valleys, as well as much of the Midwest. While the northeast experienced some rain recently, dry conditions are likely to persist in the coming week. 

There are currently no significant tropical threats to the United States, despite some activity in the Atlantic. Any potential tropical developments are expected to be limited by upper-level wind shear and are unlikely to impact the U.S. directly. The main focus remains on the continued dry and warm weather pattern affecting large portions of the country.

Look ahead: warm and dry across most of the country

Meteorologist Joe Lumberg. Before we Joe, we talk about the upcoming week. Let's go back to last week and see what we're highlighting. All right. The high pressure builds in cool mornings, warmer afternoons and that warming trend progresses from west to east. But bone drying these areas for most of next week. Yeah, bone dry. Joe, we can't get a drop of rain in parts of the northeast here, but that's part of the story for next week. We had some rain in the northeast Saturday night and Sunday is a front move through, and there was some pretty good downpours with a wave of low pressure. But that's gone, and it's gone right back to dry in the system that kind of skirt of the East Coast yesterday produced very little rain as we go in the next week. One of the three things we're gonna talk about is that really continued to be no tropical threat for the United States. It's gonna be warm across most of the country. In contrast to the cool shots we've had recently, that's not gonna be the case for most of the country next week. Unfortunately, the dry weather is going to persist from the Tennessee Valley into the Ohio Valley and probably part to the Midwest. Notice how dry it has been in places like ST Louis over to Columbus and Pittsburgh over the past 30 days. It doesn't show up in here. You've had some rain over, as I mentioned this past weekend along the I-95 quarter. I was in the middle of it in southeastern Connecticut last Sunday, just an all day soaking rain and kind of cool. There's been some wet weather here in the northern plains and also in portions of the eastern Rockies and high plains, some in Texas. But you know, it's been very dry in most areas east of the Mississippi and across the Ohio Valley. This is not likely to change next week. You know, the pattern next week, Joe again, you'd already mentioned it for much of the country. It also looks warm next week. It's warm. If you really look at the jet stream next week, Bernie, it's really a tale of two jet streams. The main jet stream is way to the north, so there's no access to cool air. It's weird. Usually, at this time of the year, you don't talk about cut off lows or, you know, disturbances that kind of peel away from the jet stream. But that's what we're having. There's one that may kind of detach itself in the jet stream here in the eastern states. So I have to keep an eye on the east coast for the potential for some onshore flow and some wet weather. A system that comes into the northwest this weekend will work its way through the northern Rockies and out of the northern plains. So you'll begin the weekend with one system lifting out with some showers and thunderstorms. Another one comes in. But south and east of the area, these areas are going to be looking at summer like warmth with temperatures in the eighties, three or 90 degrees on a consistent basis. And most of the south Tennessee and Ohio Valley warm and dry next week. Last week at this time, Joe, I was convinced that we would have Gabrielle in the in the Atlantic. There was just too much dry air, and it just goes to show you you need all the ingredients. It doesn't matter how warm the water is. If you don't have all the ingredients, you're not going to get a storm. That said, if we're gonna have one, yes, you know, we're gonna keep an eye on the length of still some waves coming off the coast of Africa and a couple of them are catching our eyes. So we'll have to see if those try to develop. But if they do, it looks as if upper level wind shear would limit their growth potential and also probably keep them away from the U. S. This is the area. If anything, you get into the Caribbean and the Gulf of the South Southern Gulf. That's the area we got to watch.
