In Libya, international aid has reached devastated areas in support of local rescue teams. This after massive flash floods over the weekend, which authorities say, killed over 5 thousand people, with 10 thousand still missing and tens of thousands more displaced.

The search continues in the water amid the debris, where several Turkish teams are supporting local rescue workers overwhelmed by the scale of the disaster. Two field hospitals have been supplied by Turkey. We treated trauma patients here all throughout the day. Another field hospital, aboard a French aid plane, will be taking in victims in Derna. The French government has sent tonnes of supplies and some 40 rescuers from its Istre military base in the south. So you have in these aircraft the capacity of an A400M, that's a little over 100 people. Then it can go up to 30 tonnes of material when there are no personnel on board. Afterwards it's a mix according to needs. The first missions will be essential to determine the exact needs. A number of other countries have sent aid, including Qatar, Italy, Tunisia, Jordan and Kuwait. Meanwhile, the European Union has announced that it is sending tents, field beds, water and food. Aid which is essential in supporting these Libyan volunteers from all over the country. We provided blankets, mattresses and food. Afghan people are also helping us, thanks be to God, and now we have a good quantity of aid and we are trying to gather more. The United Nations has pledged 10 million dollars to help Libya's survivors.
